Uniform Policy

 

How and where to order uniforms

Lands’ End

  • Online at www.landsend.com/school
  • Our school code is 900133695
  • LCCS receives 3% of all uniform sales.
  • Orders may be returned to any Sears store, even those items with a logo.

Dennis Uniforms

  • Sale at LCCS  - will be held in August, 2011 during tax-free weekend. Date TBA.

  • January - save 10% on all purchases - phone, mail, and internet.

Other options for uniform purchase

  • If you have polo shirts purchased at a retailer other than the uniform companies listed above that need logos, please take them to Athletic Outfitters, 575-541-9718, on Spruce Street next to Hollywood Smiles.  They will imprint the logo for $3.00.  Logos will be required for all students in kindergarten and above.  Logos are optional for preschool.

 

 


Uniform Policy

Preschool

 

Preschool children are to be uniformly dressed in:

  • Khaki or navy blue bottoms.
  • Plain (solid) hunter green, white or navy blue shirts.
  • LCCS Logo is optional on shirts.
  • No shorts on Mass day (Wednesday).
  • P.E. Uniform – NOT REQUIRED


Uniform Policy

Kindergarten through Grade 3

Girls’ Basic Uniform

  • Navy blue pants or knee-length walking shorts with brown, or black belt.
  • Blackwatch (plaid) skort or skirt.
  • Green polo shirt (LCCS logo mandatory).

Girls’ Mass Uniform (Wednesday)

  • Blackwatch (plaid) jumper, skirt, or skort worn with a white Peter Pan blouse.
  • Navy blue crossover tie.
  • No pants or shorts.
  • Navy blue or hunter green sweater vest over white shirts are allowed for mass.

*NOTE: Bike shorts must be worn under skirt

Boys’ Basic Uniform

  • Navy blue pants, or navy blue walking shorts.
  • Hunter green polo shirt (LCCS logo mandatory).
  • Brown, or black belt.

Boys’ Mass Uniform (Wednesday)

  • Navy blue pants.
  • No shorts.
  • Button-down collar oxford-cloth shirt.
  • Brown, or black belt.
  • Tie: solid navy blue or plaid (blue/green).
  • Navy blue or hunter green sweater vest over white shirts are allowed for mass.

Cold Weather – Boys and Girls

  • LCCS jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts or solid navy blue sweaters and sweatshirts may be worn in the classroom.

P.E. Uniform

  • NOT REQUIRED.

Socks

  • Socks must be visible, above tops of shoes.
  • Socks, knee highs and tights are to be solid white, hunter green or navy blue (NO design of any kind).
  • Leggings – solid black, blue, white or hunter green may be worn under dresses during the months of November to February (NO designs allowed).

Shoes

  • Tennis shoes or leather shoes may be worn with uniform.
  • Dress shoes may be worn with Mass uniform.
  • No open toe shoes, flip flops, high heels, military boots, or fad shoes at any time.
  • Sandals will be allowed for formal free dress days (pictures), but tennis shoes must be available for P.E.

  • White button-down collar oxford-cloth blouse or white polo shirt.
  • No shorts. (High School girls may wear pants to mass)
  • Maroon or black sweater vest over white shirts are allowed for mass.

Boys’ Basic Uniform

  • Khaki or black pants or walking shorts.
  • Maroon polo shirt.
  • Black or brown belt.

Boys’ Mass Uniform (Wednesday)

  • Khaki or black pants.
  • White button-down collar oxford-cloth shirt or white polo shirt.
  • Black or brown belt.
  • Maroon or black sweater vest over white shirts are allowed for mass.

Cold Weather – Boys and Girls

Uniform Policy

 

General Appearance of Uniforms

  • Faded pants, shorts or shirts will not be allowed.
  • Tucked pant bottoms are prohibited.
  • Shirts are to be properly tucked in at all times.
  • Pants, skirts, shorts and skorts are never to be worn below the waist.
  • Skirts and skorts will fit properly at the waist and finished with a manufactured hem.
  • Belts are not to be too long.
  • Only LCCS jackets and sweaters; solid navy blue sweaters and sweatshirts (grades K-8); solid maroon or black sweaters and sweatshirts (H.S.)  may be worn in the classroom.
  • Jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts are not allowed in mass (sweater vests are allowed on mass day over white shirts).

 

Grooming

  • Boys
    • Hair must be neatly combed.
    • No fad style haircuts: mushroom haircuts, shaved heads, spiked or mohawks.
    • Hair length must not be over the ears, or longer than shirt collar.
    • No ponytails or braided hair.
    • No colored hair.
    • No facial hair.
  • Girls
    • Hair must be neatly combed.
    • No fad style haircuts: mushroom haircuts, shaved heads, spiked or mohawks.
    • No unnatural looking colored or streaked hair: (i.e. blue, red, green, etc.).
    • No white tip nails, acrylic nails or colored nail polish (clear polish only).
    • No visible make-up may be worn.

 

  • Accessories
    • No purses or fanny packs in the classrooms or at church.
    • Scarves, bandannas, gloves, fad accessories, are not to be worn.
    • Caps and hats are not to be worn in the buildings at any time.
    • Jewelry: All students are allowed to wear
      • a Christian religious symbol on a small chain
      • a watch
      • Girls are allowed to wear only post (stud) earrings. One pair only.
      • Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.

 

Free Dress Days

  • Formal Free Dress Days (picture days)
    • Boys
      • Slacks, no denim of any color.
      • Dress shirt only.
      • Girls
        • Dresses, skirts/slacks, no denim of any color.
        • Dress blouses only.
  • Casual Free Dress Days
    • Boys and Girls
      • Must be in good taste and follow the guidelines below.
      • The following are never permitted:
        • Halter and spaghetti straps
        • Strapless, low-cut dresses or partial or bare midriffs.
        • Cut-off tops, see-through clothing.
        • Clothing with slogans, wording or pictures of a questionable nature.
        • Short shorts (shorts must be below the finger tips and above the knees).
        • Tight or baggy clothes.
        • Long belts.
        • Clothing with holes.
        • Muscle shirts or sleeveless shirts.
